About the Site
The web site ByJacobsen.com was first launched in the summer of 2005 by Morten Steen Jacobsen (Born 1979) as a part time project from his professional career working in the Danish branch of a large American IT-company. The web site serves as an outlet for his creative work in digital photography, painting and graphic design.

“The web site is where is all comes together” he says. “I thoroughly enjoy being in the field taking pictures, navigating in a different environment and talking to the local people. When I get back home I edit the pictures and find the ones that make a both visually compelling and coherent story. I design the front page of the story, find texts that add a bit more information to the pictures and finally upload them”.

He has done the occasional work for hire as a photographer and sold several of his paintings but for now he maintains that the work displayed on the web site is still only a serious hobby. “This way” he adds “I can focus solely on the creative work while not having to worry about making a living of it”.
